Cut & Tell

More than a flower workshop.
Intimate, hands-on floral experiences that run with the seasons of nature (and you).

Come for the flowers, stay for the vibes.

You know that feeling after a really good conversation? Where you go home feeling completely uplifted, thinking about something you hadn't thought about in a while?

At our Cut & Tell flower workshops, you leave with an armful of stunning flowers and a cup full of open, honest conversation and real connection.

You'll get your hands into beautiful, locally-grown blooms, inspired by the seasons, learn Margo’s low-tox, foam-free techniques, harness your own creativity, and leave with something you’ve made with your very own hands. No experience needed. No pressure. Just a tactile and mindful thing to do with your hands for a couple of hours.

And because we’re Margo's, we go a little deeper as we snip stems! We skip the small talk. We chat about things that matter. Each session is not only shaped by Mother Nature’s seasons, but by the season we’re in. Autumn asks us to let go. Winter takes us inward. Spring invites something new. Summer gives us pleasure in abundance.

You won't be put on the spot. You won't have to share anything you don't want to. But you might be surprised what comes out when your hands are busy and the pressure's off.

You'll leave with a beautiful arrangement, a polaroid and a mindful keepsake, and probably something worth thinking about well after the session’s over. And maybe a new number in your phone too.

Off our screens and into the present moment with a dozen people after something deeper. And a table full of flowers!

  • Because somewhere between the group chats, the packed schedules and the endless scroll, actually connecting with people got really hard.

Cut & Tell exists because we think the antidote to modern disconnection isn't another app or event with a name tag. It's a communal table, something beautiful to make with your hands, and a room full of people who showed up for the same reason you did.

Margo's has always been about creating spaces where real conversations can happen. Cut & Tell is that, just with your hands in florals.

  • You'll arrive to a beautifully set communal table of seasonal blooms, drinks, and tunes. From there, we guide you through creating your own arrangement using locally grown, seasonal flowers. Sustainable, foam-free, and designed to spark your own creativity.

While we cut, conversation flows. We begin with a question designed to bypass the small talk and go somewhere more interesting. Nobody's put on the spot. Nobody has to share anything they're not ready for. But the combination of busy hands and a low-pressure room has a way of making honesty feel easier.

Two hours later you'll wrap up, take a polaroid, and jot down some journal notes as a keepsake of the moment. You’ll leave with your beautiful arrangement, a full cup and probably some new phone numbers in your phone.

  • Anyone who's been meaning to do something for themselves and keeps putting it off. Anyone whose social life has somehow migrated entirely online. Anyone craving a bit of quiet creativity and real human company.

You don't need flower experience. You don't need to be a talker. You just need to show up.

Groups of friends are welcome. Solo is even better.

FAQs

What exactly is a Cut & Tell workshop?

A 2-hour flower workshop with a Margo’s twist. You'll learn how to make a beautiful seasonal, sustainably designed arrangement, but the real magic is what happens around the table. Small group, hands in flowers, honest, open conversation.

How is it different to a regular flower workshop?

Most flower workshops are about technique. Cut & Tell is about connection. The flowers give your hands something to do while the conversation finds its own shape. You'll leave with an arrangement, but that's almost beside the point.

How is Cut & Tell different to a Pleasure Picnic?

Pleasure Picnics are our signature conversation pit-style gathering designed for open conversation around particular themes such as sensuality, identity, aging, hormones and desire. They’re immersive and often expert-led. Cut & Tell are more hands-on workshops where the conversations are natural and less structured. They are smaller and more intimate sessions where you’ll actually make something to take away with you.

If Pleasure Picnics are the dinner party, Cut & Tell is the kitchen conversation after everyone else has gone home.

Do I need any flower experience?

None at all. Bec, Margo’s founder and florist, guides you through everything. No prior experience, no wrong answers.

I’m shy! Do I need to talk or share personal things?

Only if you want to. There's no pressure to speak and no forced go-arounds. The room tends to open up naturally, but always at your pace. Everything shared stays in the room.

Is this a good way to meet people?

Genuinely, yes. A small group, a shared activity with nature, and real conversations make for real connection that most social situations don't.

How many people attend?

No more than 12 guests max for public sessions. These workshops are intentionally intimate so that conversation feels warm and natural rather than performative.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! Purchase multiple tickets and we'll seat you together. Coming alone is equally welcomed.

What's included in my ticket?

Everything. Seasonal flowers and all materials, non alcoholic drinks throughout, a mindful ritual, your finished arrangement to take home, a polaroid of you with your creation, and a keepsake card dated to this edition with space to jot down some journal thoughts and revisit in your own time.

Where are Cut & Tell workshops held?

Public workshops are held across various locations around Naarm (Melbourne). Venue and address are listed on each session. Or we can come to you for private workshops (see below for more info).

Can I book a private workshop?

What's the vibe?

Warm, honest, a little unexpected. And beautifully FLORAL. We are here for a return to analogue moments - no phones, no pressure, no distractions.
